Family-Owned Since 1972
In 1965 founders John and Gloria Mowbray moved to Southern California from Maryland, and in 1972 established The Original Mowbray’s Tree Service. In 1976, as a Certified 100 percent Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), Mowbray’s became a direct (prime) contractor with Southern California Edison (SCE). Mowbray’s Incorporated in 2002 and has continued to grow while becoming a force in California’s Vegetation Management Industry.
Dedicated Leadership
Today, under the leadership of owner Robin Mowbray’s nephew, Richard Mowbray, Mowbray’s now employs over 1000 full-time employees including many experts from the vegetation management and forestry industries.
These highly trained professionals possess certifications from organizations such as ISA and TCIA including Tree Risk Assessor and Tree Safety Professional. As safety is at the core of how Mowbray’s operates, our employees are trained and certified in First Aid, CPR, and Aerial Rescue.

Under the direction of Mowbray’s Health and Safety Director, Axel Avila, Mowbray’s is instilling in its employees a strong “culture of safety” that is the core value of our company.
