Responsibilities:
Personnel performing the role of General Foreman will have the following responsibilities:
- Ensuring that each individual on job sites are capable to perform the work asked of them
- Assessment of every employee for skill proficiency
- Inspiring and motivating each employee in the field to reach their potential every day
- Providing discipline as necessary
- Scheduling daily activities for each crew
- Engaging with utility personnel and the general public as necessary
- Tree assessments and job assessment to assign properly trained and qualified personnel for each work site
- Communicate resources needed to complete projects to Area Managers
- Schedule maintenance of equipment with Fleet personnel
- Request outages and line shut down activities to Area Managers
- Perform Safety audits weekly, and communicate the results to the Area Manager
- Provide support for daily/weekly toolboxes and Safety meetings
- Conduct on the job field training for field employees
- Assess every individual to ensure they are fit for duty before work begins
- Lead incident response efforts
General Foremen have the authority to STOP WORK at any time they determine that unsafe conditions exist. Each General Foreman should be able to communicate weaknesses and strengths in the following areas; span of control, communication, and technology.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Conflict resolution training
Education:
- CPR and First Aid Trained (required)
- Bi-lingual (preferred)
- EHAP trained
- CTSP (preferred)
- Certified Arborist (preferred)
